Tommy Vercetti is the perfect GTA protagonist. He's ambitious, ruthless, and quotable. "I just wanted to piss you off before I kill you" is an all-timer. Ray Liotta's voice work is incredible — you can hear the rage and the charm in every line. Tommy's story is pure 80s excess — you start with nothing and end up owning half the city. The property-buying mechanic gives purpose to your crimes — you can buy businesses, earn passive income, and unlock new missions. The mobile port includes all the properties — the Malibu Club, the Print Works, the Boatyard, and the Ice Cream Factory. Building your empire is addictive.
Vice City — Neon Soaked Perfection
Vice City is a love letter to Miami. The map isn't huge, but it's dense with personality. Ocean Drive with its neon lights. The beaches with their bright sand. The Cuban gang strongholds of Little Havana. The glitzy mansions of Starfish Island. The seedy underbelly of Vice Point. The graphics are cleaned up for mobile, though some textures look fuzzy on modern screens. But the atmosphere is timeless — driving down Ocean Drive at sunset with "Billie Jean" playing is a gaming moment I'll never forget. The mobile version includes all the radio stations — Flash FM, V-Rock, Emotion 98.3, and the hilarious talk radio on K-Chat.
Gameplay — Arcadey and Fun
Vice City's gameplay is arcadey and fun. Drive a speedboat through a hotel lobby. Chainsaw a drug lord on a yacht. Mow down a beach party with a mini-gun (mission: "The Job" — good luck). The weapons are classic — pistol, shotgun, SMG, assault rifle, sniper, flamethrower, chainsaw, and the rocket launcher. The vehicle selection is perfect — sports cars, speedboats, helicopters, and the tank (cheat code required). The mobile controls are surprisingly adaptable — lock-on shooting works well, and there's a handy sprint button. A controller is recommended for the best experience, but the touch controls are serviceable.

Still, driving down Ocean Drive at sunset with "Africa" playing is a transcendent experience.
Cheat Codes — Part of the Experience
Cheat codes are a huge part of Vice City's charm. You can spawn a tank (PANZER), get unlimited health (ASPIRINE), spawn a Rhino tank (GETTHEREAMAZINGLYFAST), make cars fly (FLYINGFISH), and explode all nearby cars (BIGBANG). The cheat codes work on the mobile version — just type them on the phone keypad. They're perfect for when you just want to cause chaos. Is This Still Worth Playing in 2026?
Absolutely. Vice City is a time capsule of the 1980s and a masterclass in atmosphere. The game is smaller than later GTAs, but it's tighter, more focused, and more fun.
